The best way to describe Riley is that old Bill Cosby routine: "I was getting the cookie for yoooouuuu!"  lol Riley LOVES to explore, to investigate and be challenged by objects as well as people every day. Everything is a toy to Riley and therefore fair game.  Highly intellilgent, motivated to play and seek,  he would do best with an active, confident /consistent human companion/leader who understands as well as applies dog theory.  Riley is not a "sit by the fire place" kind of doggie although he is not hyper at all.

Riley is also very affectionate and appears to get along with all children as well as dogs and strangers.  He has now accumulated some inside manners.  Riley has a strong prey response towards squirrels, even inside the house and so he will bark at them.  We put him on a leash attached to us when he does this type of behavior.  Riley knows wait, sit and likes his crate.
Riley's bark is very much like a seals bark.  He is learning when the sound of his voice is appropriate and when it is unwanted.  Consistent reward and training will be good for Riley and he is accepting of such.

Riley is a very confident dog who is in good shape with none of the typical cocker physical problems.  He is moderate to highly active so he requires owner interaction or will quickly become frustrated/bored without something to occupy his time and mind.  Exercise will drain his energy level so his mind can listen.

Riley is learning not to pull on a leash as well as to focus on the leash holder rather than what catches his eye while walking.  This training continues and is essential.  I would recommend that initially, children not walk Riley until he is completely trained.

Riley loves to give all his "babies" a squeakectomy then pull out all the stuffing which he does rather quickly.  Be sure to have plenty of balls for fetching on hand as he likes to fetch.  He is also a chewer although he never chews on furniture or other things he shoudn't.
UPDATE:  Riley has been fixed and is ready for his new home!!  Check out his new pictures!!!!!!
