Smoke is a beautiful, black,  young, cocker spaniel who just wants to please and play.  Smoke is very intelligent so he knows several commands such as sit, stay, up, outisde, inside, water.  He also will fetch his toy if you say, "Go get your toy!"  And Smoke loves his toys especially balls to retrieve or anything that squeeks. Smoke is active and loves to play but he is not overly active like a puppy can be sometimes.

Outside is Smoke's very favorite place to be when you are also outisde.  If you like long walks, Smoke would be glad to accompany you.  He is also very friendly towards other dogs and doesn't mind sharing that walk or toys with others. Smoke loves kids!!  He is a very gentle dog. Smoke is not the kind of dog who'd be happy always sitting inside the house the majority of the time.  He needs exercise and time with his owner outside the house.  He doesn't require long periods of activity or long periods of time outside though.

It's been reported that Smoke has had seizures so he takes phenobarbital pills twice a day.  While here in his foster home, Smoke has never had a seizure and while seizures can appear scary, they are controlable.  This medication can tend to increase Smoke's need for fluids which can increase his need to relieve himself.  We control the amount of fluid Smoke gets and we also pick up his water dish right after dinner.  Then we make sure he is let outside at least twice prior to bed time.   The only accident we've had is when we forgot to let Smoke outside.

Initially, Smoke can be a little shy to strangers or men so patience is all that's needed.  Once he feels he can trust you though, Smoke warms up quickly and is very affectionate. Smoke is very much ready for his new home.
