Hi, my name is Gizmo.  I am a very handsome, chocolate, 8yr old Cocker Spaniel.  I am looking for my new forever home.  My prior family turned me into a shelter after keeping me & my breeding partner outside for 8 years.  As you know Cockers are not outdoor dogs.  It was a very long 8 years.  I am now living in my foster home and I love it!  Everything is new to me.  It can be a little overwhelming at times, but my foster mom says that I am adjusting very well.  It is so nice to have a warm soft place to sleep.  I love toys, especially balls!!!!  I like to fetch and bat the balls around with my paws.  I do get distracted easily, but there are just too many new things to see and do.  I do need to work on my manners.  Obedience training would be good for me.  I am basically an 8yr old puppy.  I am a very smart, affectionate, sweet, goofy, and playful boy.  I ride very well in the car.  I am a little crazy on the leash, but it is new to me.  I usually go into my crate when asked, especially if you put a toy in there.  I am doing well with house training too.  I do have an occasionally accident, but it is hard to learn after 8 yrs.  I am good with other dogs.  I would love to have kids or dogs to play with.  I am up to date on all my vaccinations.  I do have dry eye in my left eye so I will probably have to have drops for the rest of my life.  I am very good with this though.  So if you think that you can provide a great home for amazing boy like me, please fill out an application and my foster mommy will contact you.  I hope to hear from you soon.  I can’t wait to have a home of my very own.

Februray 2011 - Gizmo is doing very well.  He is a very healthy boy and only needs a couple of drops in his left eye daily.  He is calming down and learning to focus better.  He has also decided that being on the couch snuggling is a very good thing.  Gizmo is quite the cuddle bear.  Gizmo is now completely potty trained.  Some family is going to be very lucky to have him.  If you have any questions about him, please email me at mendej30@yahoo.com.
