Brownie has just come into rescue.  He is great chocolate boy that is between 10 - 12 yrs old.  He came from Calhoun County in Battle Creek.  He was a cruelty case and was horribly neglected. The shelter removed 4lbs of matted hair and his nails were so long they twisted around his feet & legs.  The poor guy couldn't even walk.  Brownie had to be sedated for part of the grooming.  He is blind from having untreated eye infections for so long.  He also has cataracts in both eyes.  Brownie can see shadows and seems to get around pretty well.  He is very sweet boy who loves people and other dogs.  He loves to snuggle and be close.  Brownie does have some bald spots from having matted fur for so long.  These will fill in with time.  If you think you could provide him with a safe and loving home to live out the rest of his life or have any questions, please email his foster mom at mendej30@yahoo.com.

Update:  Brownie is currently being treated for eye, ear & skin infections.  The vet seems to think that in time his coat will grow back in as he gets treatment and proper nutrition.  Brownie does very well on car rides.  He walks well on a leash.  He is house and crate trained.
