Update 7//11/13: Well, I must admit this little girl is so smart and eager to please.  She is doing so well with her training! She now knows she must be invited to sit on the furniture or in you lap, and will sit at your feet until she is invited.  She will sit and stay at the doorway while letting other dogs in. She also knows that she must sit, make eye contact, and be "released" from her sit before she can eat.  These are all tools that have established leadership and boundaries for Molly.  She has done exceptionally well, and I cannot express how improved her manners are.  Molly still does best in a quiet environment where she does not get overwhelmed.  This is what she had been used to for her entire life, and I believe that would be what is best for her now.  She does love to sleep in her little bed now, and is quite the snugglebug.  She is affectionate and loving, and whoever adopts her will be a lucky person!

Update 7/1/13:
Molly learns very quickly.  She will need a family that is willing to continue her training because she has progressed nicely.  She really does best in a quiet environment, and I believe she would prefer to be an only dog.  She is overwhelmed with too much activity.  Molly loves her walks and needs a dedicated person who will give her this exercise.

Update 6/21/13: Molly is doing great.  She loves her daily morning walks and is getting into a great routine.  She is quite interested when she sees squirrels, birds, and cats.  She is quickly learning to sit and stay when entering doorways. I have also learned Molly prefers to be in a crate at night.  This is her comfort zone; as soon an she comes in, she will go sit in her crate.  She is very happy and content.

Molly is a sweet seven year old cocker.  Her owner passed away and she came into our rescue a week ago.  We are still learning about her personality, but we do know she is crate trained and housebroken. Molly is spayed and up to date on all her shots. She was also started on Revolution for heartworm and flea prevention. Molly needs to got to a very experienced dog owner.  She is a gentle dog, but needs to learn basic manners. I plan to work with her and get training for her.  She will need a dedicated family who will be willing to establish and enforce rules in their home.  Molly is very submissive and loving, and will only be placed in a home that fits her needs. She will not be placed with children, but does fine with other dogs.  She would even do well as an only dog as she enjoys a quiet well balanced house. Molly's applications will be reviewed and she will be placed once her foster feels she is ready.
